Text language is probably the most widely used language in America besides English. Yes, I have declared text and english to be two different languages. I remember when I was in middle school and AIM was starting to become really popular. Shortened words like brb, lol, and ttyl were common. However, now it is popular for middle schoolers to have cell phones and the language they are using is becoming very hard to understand sometimes! My sister is 12. She doesn't have a cell phone, but sometimes she'll steal one of my parents phones to text me and there have been several times I have had to ask her to spell it out because I didn't get it!
Not only is this "language" becoming more wide-spread in the mobile world, but there have been news reports about people using text abbreviations on their JOB APPLICATIONS!! Really people??? How can you seriously think this was a good idea?? I really don't understand how some people think. And the bad thing is that some of those people are actually going to get a job somewhere and here I sit jobless which also leaves me education-less. (No, I'm not bitter at all... haha)
So I found this website that is the largest list of text message shorthand and some of these are ridiculous! Here are a few samples:
1. 4NR - Foreigner
2. ?^ - Hook up?
3. @TEOTD - At the end of the day
4. BFFTTE - Best friends forever until the end
5. BHOF - Bald headed old fart
6. CICYHW - Can I copy your homework?
7. DAMHIKT - Don't ask me how I know that
8. DUNA - Do not use acronyms
9. EMRTW - Evil monkeys rule the world!
10. NTTAWWT - Not that there's anything wrong with that
11. P2U4URAQTP - Peace to you for you are a cutie pie
12. PIMP - Peeing in my pants
13. RUMCYMHMD - Are you on medications cause you must have missed a dose
I mean, come on. Some of these are absolutely ridiculous! Who would actually use some of these??
Do you know of any more crazy ones? Any funny text stories or mix-ups?

My Amazing Boyfriend
If you are like my last roommate, this will be the most disgusting blog post you have ever read. I don't mean disgusting as in blood, guts, or stomach turning stories. My last roommate (or froomie, as I call her) would say the same thing every time I brought up a cute boyfriend story or started doting about my boyfriend... "Oh Gross!" I love my froomie, I really do, but she's not normal! (but then again, being normal is way over rated.) Most girls would immediately sigh "Awwww!!" However, if you are not like most girls (or guys I guess), then this post is probably not for you :)
Anyway... as I have mentioned already, my boyfriend is absolutely amazing! He is a loving, caring, honest, loyal, funny, intelligent, encouraging, supportive, and Godly man. Not to mention he's pretty hot! I mean, I could go on and on, but when I was a little girl dreaming about the man that I would fall in love with, I never would have imagined anything like Drew.
Drew is not perfect and neither am I. We have our up's and down's and we each have our little quirks that annoy the other. At first, those things really bothered me. Like, Drew has this thing where he picks at his fingers that used to drive me nuts! But now I have noticed that it doesn't bug me much and if it does, I don't swat at his hand and tell him to stop...I just hold his hand :) I know this probably seems insignificant to most people, but I definitely think it is a small example of how my love for him grows everyday.
God has definitely placed Drew and I in each other's lives. I believe that some of the best couples are the ones that are exact opposites in some areas. When Drew and I are having a disagreement, I am the one that loses my temper quickly. However, Drew is the one who stays calm and suggests we calmly talk or just chill or a few minutes and leave the conversation for later. It's traits like this that make us perfect for each other because we balance each other out.
We have also grown closer together in our spiritual lives. We have been going to a new church together and this past week we started attending a Bible study there as well. We have also read Scripture and prayed together. To me, this is the most important part of our relationship. The fact that we can grow closer to God together really adds strength and even more love to our time together.
Like I said before, I could go on and on about Drew, but I'm pretty sure you're tired of all this mushy stuff so I'll stop here :) It is my hope and prayer that each of you can find someone as special as my Drew is to me.
Have you found that person? Are you discouraged about finding that person? Leave a comment :)

Working it out
I really really really don't like working out. Unfortunately, when I don't work out my body hates me too. I've gained a lot of weight since I've been at home (about the middle of December '09), mostly because I've been sitting around applying for jobs a lot (and not getting any replies) and watching tv. So I've recently started forcing myself to get up and workout.
Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I feel awkward working out in front of a bunch of skinny people who can run 50 miles an hour while only taking a couple of breaths. I would probably end up hyperventilating if I ever tried that. Talk about feeling judged. So I decided to go the workout DVD route. This way I can workout while locked up in my room and nobody can see how horribly out of shape I am! Lol.
Fortunately i have an amazing boyfriend who is encouraging me along the way and setting an example by working out in the gym several times a week. Not only do I benefit from his encouragement and example, but I'm loving the arm muscles!! :)
What do you hate about working out? What do you love about it? Do you have any videos or routines that have been very successful for you?
*Rants about "LOL's" and amazing boyfriends to come in the near future* :)

Blog Fail
Well here I am trying to start a blog...again. I deleted the first one, but if you'd like to look at the second one you can find it here. Anyway, I am going to try my hardest to keep this one going. I just turned 22 less than a month ago and so much is happening. Luckily you get to hear me rant about everything, so without further ado here are my top rants for tonight...
Jobs:
Right now I am trying to find a job... in this crappy economy? Yeah right. Especially when the majority of my experience comes from baby-sitting/child related jobs. It wouldn't be so bad if I could actually find parents who could actually commit and weren't as flaky as a Kellogg's breakfast cereal. (Yes, I went there...and I know you chuckled. Don't judge ;)
Financial Aid:
I am trying to find a job so that I can save up money to pay for at least one community college class. If I can do that then I'll be able to get back in good standing with the financial aid people. However, they should be the ones trying to get back in good standing with me! They royally screwed up and now I'm paying for it. Has anyone else noticed that whenever you speak with people in the financial aid office, they treat you like you're the dumbest person in the world or they seem to be ticked off at the world? When, in fact, we should be ticked off because we had to sit in the phone for and hour before we could even talk to someone!
College:
I love college. Sometimes. The friends and randomness that happens makes college a blast. However, having to decide what you should be doing with your life at the young age of 18 can be pretty not fun. I am one of those people who has changed majors several times (and in the process of doing it again!) I started out in Music Ed., then Deaf Ed., then Advocacy and Services for the Deaf...all at UNC Greensboro. Now, I am trying to transfer to Campbell University so that I can major in Christian ministries. I feel that I have finally found a major that God wants me in. It gives me the degree I need, but also gives me some flexibility and freedom to change and decide exactly what part of ministry I want to go into. It'll take me another 2-2 1/2 years to finish (a total of 6 years in college), but I know it will all be worth it.
I think I'm done ranting for the night. I definitely need to get to bed so that I can get up in the morning and start my new exercise plan! Hmmm sounds like a rant for another day...
PS - feel free to add to or comment on my rants/bad jokes. Maybe it'll give me something new to rant about!
